Fourth workshop of the seminar “Exhibiting Polyphony” with the artist Félicia Atkinson and the musician, writer and curator David Toop
an event at the DFK Paris
With the artist Félicia Atkinson and the musician, writer and curator David Toop we will examine the requirements of the exhibition of sound works, the curatorial choices that they prompt as well as the difficulties and potentialities that relate to the reverberation of sound in the exhibition space. We will also discuss the way in which resonances can be created between works, or within a work and how these echo one another. How can a sound, whether present or past, audible or unheard, refer to another? How can these resonances be made perceptible in the exhibition of polyphonic works and practices?
The session will take place at the German Center for Art History, 45 rue des Petits-Champs, 75001 Paris. Students and researcher are invited to take part via Zoom. The session will be broadcasted by ∏-node, experimental platform for the development of an hybrid web/FM/DAB+ radio format (https://p-node.org). To take part to the session via Zoom et access the reader, please send a message to marnoux(at)dfk-paris.org or anne.zeitz(at)univ-rennes2.fr.
