In accordance with Para. 15 of the Max Weber Foundation’s statute, an Equal Opportunities Officer and deputy are to be appointed whose responsibilities are derived from the provisions of the Federal Law concerning Equal Opportunities in the Federal Administration and Courts.

The Equal Opportunities Officer participates in the compilation and implementation of the Equal Opportunities Strategy of the Max Weber Foundation.

The Equal Opportunities Officer is elected by all the female staff of the institutes as well as the central office. The tenure runs for four years. The Equal Opportunities Officer of the Max Weber Foundation works together with local women’s representatives in the respective institutes and central office, who are recommended by the Equal Opportunities Officer and appointed by the respective chief officer. The current Equal Opportunities Officer is Dr. Christiane Swinbank. Her deputy is Dr. Johanna Beamish.
